Abhishek Bachchan took to his twitter account and paid tribute to versatile and legendary actor Johnny Walker, who passed away on 29th July 2003.
“Today is the death anniversary of the great comic Johnny Walker ji. Oh how I wish I could have had the honour to work with him. #masterclass” tweeted Junior Bachchan.
Badruddin Jamaluddin Kazi popularly known by his screen name Johnny Walker, was born in Indore, British India in 1920. After working in more than 300 odd movies, actor and comedian is most noted for his role in Madhumati and Shikar, for which Filmfare awards.
Johnny walker debut in Baazi in 1951, opposite Dev Anand, was well respected among co-star and fans alike. Last he was seen in “Chachi 420” with Kamal Hassan.
Johnny Walker married Noorjahan,the couple met in 1955 on the sets of the “Aar Paar” movie. They had three daughters and three sons.
Regretting that he had been forced to leave school at 6th standard, he sent his sons to the US for schooling. One of them, Nasir Khan, has since worked for Channel V and has acted in Dam Dum Diga Diga.
Despite often playing the roles of a drunk, Walker was a teetotaller.
