Actress Alia Bhatt clears the air about doing a biopic on Pakistani singer Nazia Hasan and says if someone is making it, she would definitely work in it.
“I was asked that if I wanted to do a biopic, so I gave this name, Nazia Hasan, because on the top of my mind, I think the story and subject is interesting,” Alia shared during the song launch of her upcoming movie Shaandaar.
Nazia Hassan was a Pakistani pop singer, lawyer and social activist.
Through her successful singing career, Hassan became one of the subcontinent’s singing legends and one of the most popular celebrities of South Asia.
Hassan made her singing debut with the song “Aap Jaisa Koi”, from the Indian film Qurbani (1980) made her famous in Pakistan and all of South Asia in the 1980s.
During the event, Director Vikas Bahl offered to make the biopic and Alia than confirmed that sure if Vikas is making it, she will do the biopic.
“I will make it,” said Vikas.
“You sure, okay, here it’s done now, thank you,” said Alia.
Biopic market is current trend in Bollywood.
“Dhoni” starring Sushant Singh Rajput, “Azhar” starring Emraan Hashmi, “Dangal” starring Aamir Khan, the list is endless and “Nazia Hasan” could very well be newest addition.
