Aligrah to premier at BUSAN Film Festival: Manoj Bajpayee

Actor Manoj Bajpayee, took to his twitter account and shared the information his latest dramatic realistic tale “Aligarh” will be premiered at BUSAN Film Festival.

“So our film ALIGARH premiers at BUSAN FILM FESTIVAL .congratulations to each and every member of the team.@mehtahansal @RajkummarRao @Apurv” wrote Manoj Bajpayee.

The Busan International Film Festival is held annually in South Korea is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. The focus of the BIFF is introducing new films and first-time directors, especially those from Asian countries.

Manoj Bajpayee shocked everyone when his first look, portraying a gay professor in Hansal Mehta’s upcoming film Aligarh, surfaced online. Manoj sporting stubble and greying hair with formal suit sitting in chair with a pensive look on his face was dramatically rich and wow!

“We wanted the first look of Manoj’s character to be impactful and create just the right amount of curiosity amongst the audience” says Hansal.

“Aligarh” is based on the real life incident of Dr. Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, who was terminated from his job because of his sexual-orientation. Siras, who was the professor of Marathi at the Aligarh Muslim University, later committed suicide.

Manoj Bajpai is playing the role of Siras in this movie and Rajkummar Rao plays a journalist in the film.
