Cinema Lovers took a trip down to memory lane at Mehboob Studios with entire cast and crew of Mr. India, organized by JIO MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and The Viral Fever ‘Movie Mela’.
Shekhar Kapur and producer Boney Kapoor took the challenging task of making first ever Indian superhero-invisible man film laced with strong emotional drama some 27 years ago, Mr India, which starred Anil Kapoor, Sri Devi, Satish Kaushik, Amrish Puri and Annu Kapoor along with a massive ensemble child actors.
Sharing anecdotes, leading man, Anil Kapoor said, “At that point of time, for all of us, film was the most important thing, film and script had to be very good and then other things came, like characters, if characters were good, obviously movie would be automatically turned out to be good, so our character were also very important.”
“At that time Javed sahab was writing the film, Boney Kapoor producing and Sri devi, is and was the biggest and best actress of our country, so acting opposite her was a dream for me. I knew working with her would be very beneficial for me and I would become A-list hero after working with her,” added Anil.
Boney stated that how both he and Shekhar came from humble background and for both of them to take a risk of doing a film like this never seemed an issue.
The event had Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, Satish Kaushik, Boney Kapoor, Javed Akhtar, Aftab Shivdasani and other cast members in attendance.
