Being A Filmmaker Pressure Is Always High With Every Film : Madhur Bhandarkar

National Award winning  filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar who is well known for making hard hitting realistic films happens to be all busy these days with promotions of his latest directorial venture ‘Calendar Girls’.

The versatile filmmaker was all present in Mumbai yesterday following his film’s promotions along with the star cast of his film.

The director at the event interacted with the media, during the interaction he was asked does he feel the pressure with all the expectations which the audience have from his film.

The filmmaker said, “To be honest whether its first film or twelfth film the pressure always remains the same for a filmmaker. I’m one of those filmmaker who considers each film of his, as his very first film. Because I do put in the equal dedication and hardwork which I had put in for the very first film of mine (Chandni Bar).

“Talking about ‘Calendar Girls’, the film has five new actresses in lead, and so the pressure is more. As I know, to attract the audience to cinema theatres takes a lot of efforts and hardwork and that’s quite a tough a task and following which it does  raise pressure. And I must add that a film is made with conviction, and I have always made such films where I haven’t given much importance whether it has a star or not, and I have maintained my journey in such manner in the film industry  right from ‘Chandni Bar to ‘Calendar Girls’. For me a film is a concept, which I present to the audience in such manner that they realize that my films deal with truth and reality which they have come across with my earlier released directorial ventures.” Added Madhur.

Talking about ‘Calendar Girls’, the film stars pretty actresses Kyra Dutt, Avani Modi, Akanksha Puri, Ruhi Singh and Satarupa Pyne.

So far the trailer, posters and promos from the film has been very well accepted by the audience.

‘Calendar Girls’, will hit big screens on 25th September.
