Bollywood Pays Condolence To 39 Indian Killed In Iraq

Bollywood actors and celebrities, such as Rahul Dev, Rajat Sharma, Ashoke Pandit and filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri express their Sadness over 39 Indian being slaughtered in Iraq.

Close to four years after 39 Indian workers went missing in Iraq, the government announced on Tuesday that the men were dead after their bodies were recovered from a hillock near Badush, not far from Mosul, and DNA tests had confirmed their identities.

Actor Rahul Dev expressed his sadness on social media. He wrote, “Tragic…The news of 39 Indians confirmed dead in Iraq…My thoughts and prayers are with their families who’d been living in hope…Wish them strength in their period of test”

Talk show host Rajat Sharma also expressed his condolence to the families on social media. He wrote, “I express my deepest condolence to families of 39 Indians who have been killed by #ISIS in #Iraq. This is a dastardly assault on humanity. The whole world should condemn this brutal action.  #Mosul”

Censor Board member Ashoke Pandit also tweeted about the same. He wrote, “39 Indians who have been killed by #ISIS in #Iraq is a brutal murder on humanity. Will the #WhiteCollaredterrorists in #India condemn this act or will still prospose to have talks with them. #MosulTragedy”

Buddha in a Traffic Jam famed director Vivek Agnihotri also expressed his sadness over it. He wrote, “39 innocent Indians killed by barbaric ISIS. My prayers with their families”

Foreign minister Sushma Swaraj made the announcement in a statement in the Rajya Sabha, saying DNA tests carried out by Iraq’s Martyrs Foundation had confirmed the identities of those killed. The men were feared to have been kidnapped by the Islamic State soon after Mosul fell to the terror group in June 2014.
