Bollywood Pays Tribute To Deceased Actor Viju Khote

Best known for his most iconic role, Kaalia from Sholay, actor Actor Viju Khote passed away on Monday. He was 77 years old, struggling with ailing health.

Bollywood celebs Tisca Chopra, Anup Jalota, Ashoke Pandit took to their social media profile and expressed their grief. Actor Viju has starred in movies like Nagina, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Sholay, Qurbani, Karz, and Andaz Apna Apna among more.

Viju Khote is best remembered for his brief role in Sholay, in which he played an underling of Amjad Khan’s Gabbar.

Bollywood actress Tisca Chopra took to her social media and expressed her grief, she wrote, “He charmed us in so many varied parts…most well loved was, of course #Kaalia from #sholay…RIP #VijuKhote ji”

Singer Anup Jalota shared, “Saddened to hear about the demise of #VijuKhote Ji…May his soul rest in peace”

Noted media personality Ashoke Pandit also tweeted, “Sad to know about the demise of one of the finest actors #vijukhote ji. My deepest condolences to his family”

Viju was also known for his work in popular 90s sitcom Zabaan Sambhalke, which was based on British show Mind Your Language. Besides having over 300 Hindi and Marathi films to his credit, Viju Khote was also active in Marathi theatre.

Some of his other recent notable film appearances include Golmaal 3 (2010), Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge (2010) and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009). The actor was last seen in 2018 film Jaane Kyun De Yaaron.

Viju Khote is survived by elder sister and actor Shubha Khote.
