After playing a Gujarati immigrant in America involved in criminal activities in Hansal Mehta directorial Simran, the reigning queen of Bollywood Kangana Ranaut is busy with her historic biopic “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”.
The actress Kangana is shooting in Bikaner, Rajasthan and we got our hands on some of the on-location pictures of the actress, which gives a little sneak-peek into her new look and storyline.
Kangana Ranaut was seen sporting a beautiful red saree. She was filming for the younger version of Rani Laxmibai during this sequence. She looks royal and regal in her less than royal pictures.
In one photo, Kangana is seen entering a fort wearing a beige colored saree with the orange border along with juttis and pearl jewelry.
The film is based on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The movie is titled Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, it is being directed by Krish and produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain and Nishant Pitti.
Manikarnika talks about the glorious life of warrior queen Laxmibai, famously known as the Rani of Jhansi. Her brave stance against the British Raj and the struggle to save her people is well known.
The movie also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Atul Kulkarni, Sonu Sood, Suresh Oberoi, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi and Ankita Lokhande in key roles.
The movie is currently slated for 27 April 2018 release.
