Clash with Padman, No Issues – Sidharth Malhotra

Sidharth Malhotra was spotted at the Oppo F5 special edition launch here in Mumbai. During his media interaction the actor Sidharth said there is no issue with clashing with Padman, starring Akshay Kumar.

Akshay Kumar starrer Padman and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Aiyaary are clashing at box-office on coming 9th Feb. Earlier both the films were clashing on 26th Jan but both got postponed and once again releasing on the same date.

Talking about clashing with Padman, Sidharth Malhotra said, “It was there earlier as well, it was on 26th Jan and now on 9th Feb, so there was no issue back then and there is any issue right now. Two movies have release before and now we are waiting for our film”

Apparently young gun Sidharth Malhotra isn’t losing any sleep over the clash and sounded confident with his movie, Aiyaary, which sees him a military intelligence officer.

Talking about his role, Sidharth said, “I am playing an army officer, in an army uniform, playing a military intelligence officer. We shot in Kashmir, Delhi, Mumbai, Cairo, and London, so the film has a very wide landscape. It is a spy thriller, which people haven’t seen me do, so I am hoping people enjoy it”

Aiyaary also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Rakul Preet Singh, Pooja Chopra, Adil Hussain, Kumud Mishra, Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher in lead roles.

Addressing the rumors stating the film could be released tax-free, Sidharth said, “No we haven’t spoken about it yet. But if that happens it will be a great, more people will be able to enjoy the film. The result will come out only when the movie is released and the review comes out. According to me, the movie is very relevant, while it maintains the thriller vibe it also speaks about certain social issues.”

Sidharth was last seen in Ittefaq, a Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Production, directed by Abhay Chopra costarring Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna.

His upcoming film, ‘Aiyaary’ directed by Neeraj Pandey is scheduled to release on 9th Feb.
