Divya Dutta was spotted at Kala Ghoda festival here in Mumbai. During her media interaction, the actress paid her tribute to Sridevi and expressed that it is a huge loss for her daughters.
Sridevi untimely demise has shocked everyone and Divya Dutta expressed her grief saying, “I am here at Kala Ghoda festival with my book, but all I can think about is Sridevi. Her imprint on my brain is too big, my tributes to her, my condolences to her family and her two lovely daughters. My book is titled Me and Ma, and I think Sridevi was a great mother, it is huge loss for the daughters”
Sridevi was married to producer Boney Kapoor, the couple is blessed with two lovely daughters, Jahnvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.
Further adding Divya Dutta said, “It is shocking news that Sridevi is no more. Life has become so unpredictable; I mean there was none fitter and beautiful actress from her time. Some ten days ago I was with her in some salon, and I was thinking, how pretty and lovely she is and all of sudden you hear news about her death. You lose faith in life all of sudden”
“Such an artist, whom you have seen since childhood performing and creating magic, and then she passes away, a kind of question mark just arises, it is upsetting and saddening”
Divya Dutta also added that Sridevi was quiet and calm in her real life but once the camera started rolling she would turn into something magical. She said, “What do I say about someone who kept to herself and spoke very less, but once the camera starts rolling turn into something else, she uses to perform like magic. All of us have lots to learn from her, just a huge loss for the industry and all the fans, who loved her. It is one shock which is beyond belief; I still can’t believe that she is not there anymore”
When asked about reprising Sridevi’s role in future, Divya Dutta said, “I really don’t think anyone can act or perform like her. Whether we talk about Chaalbaaz, Mr. India, Lahme, Chaandni, or anyone of her films, there can be none like her. Whether we talk about childlike innocence or seductive or glamour’s role or we talk about beauty or plain drama, or dances, there was none like her”
Divya Dutta wrote a memoir, Me and Ma, about her relationship with her mother. Me and Ma celebrate her mother’s struggles to turn her into the woman she is today.
On the work front, Divya Dutta will be seen sharing screen space with Irrfan Khan, Arunoday Singh and Kirit Kulhari in forthcoming Abhinay Deo directorial Blackमेल.
The movie is releasing on 6th April 2018.
