Malayalam Superstar Dulquer Salmaan is all set to make his Bollywood debut alongside Irrfan Khan in the film titled “Karwaan”, says he is not here to compete with anyone.
“I don’t see myself coming to compete with anybody. There is enormous talent here. I am here only to do good work. I do not want to lose my focus in the Malayalam film industry. That is where I primarily work. I will work in Tamil and Hindi only based on the work I get offered” quips Dulquer about facing competition in Bollywood.
Further talking about his Bollywood Debut, Dulquer added, “It should be out in April or May next year. It is called Karwaan. It has me, Mithila Palkar, Irrfan Khan and Amala Akkineni. It is a pretty interesting cast. It is a road trip film and is funny and light-hearted”
Dulquer Salmaan is son of veteran actor Mammootty, popularly referred to as DQ, has a massive fan following but remain unperturbed by it.
“I don’t think too much about it. I think it is really sweet but that’s about it, I think it is better if I don’t think about these things” said Dulquer, when asked about fan following.
Dulquer will also be seen playing the role of legendary actor Gemini Ganesan in the biopic on actress Savithri. Talking about his role in the film, he said, “I spoke to his family and went with what the director told me. I am trying to capture what he was more off screen than on screen. I am not going to imitate him or his performances. I am going to get the essence of the man off screen.”
“Karwaan” is an upcoming comedy road movie, which also stars Mithila Palkar, Kriti Kharbanda and Hussain Dalal in pivotal roles.
