Film Fraternity Mourn the demise of Vijaya Nirmala Garu

Veteran director and actor G Vijaya Nirmala passed away. The condolences messages from all quarters are pouring in for the respected and legendary actress. The actor was admitted to Continental Hospital, Gachibowli, where she breathed her last.

Celebrities such as Kajal Aggarwal, Jr NTR, Sudheer Babu, Varun Tej Konidela, Rana Daggubatti, Nani and more have expressed grief on her passing.

Actress Kajal Aggarwal tweeted, “Sad to hear about the sudden demise of Vijaya Nirmala garu. Strength and condolences to the family. #RIPVijayaNirmalaGaru”

Actor Jr NTR wrote, “ ‏Vijaya Nirmala Garu was a pioneering filmmaker whose life is an inspiration for many. Extremely saddened to hear the news. Extending my deepest condolences to her family. #RIPVijayaNirmalaGaru”

Actor Sudheer Babu wrote, “‏A terrible day for my family. A pioneer, a legend and most importantly my mother like personality, #VijayaNirmala Garu made her way to the God.  May her soul rest in peace. #Ripvijayanirmalagaru

Vijaya Nirmala a pioneer film actress, producer and director known for her works predominantly in Telugu cinema. She has directed 44 films in Telugu. In 2002, she entered the Guinness Book of Records as the female director of the most films.

In 2008, she received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for her contributions to Telugu cinema. She, and fellow Telugu actress Savitri, are the only female directors to have directed the legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan.
