Sidharth Malhotra who is was spotted at the Oppo F5 special edition launch on Saturday said, he thinks ‘Aiyaary’ is his most relevant and real film.
When asked how the cast feels about the film’s release coming closer he said, “We are very excited finally the film is releasing on 9th Feb. I think ‘Aiyaary’ is my most relevant and real film. It is spy thriller based on military intelligence. The whole team is very excited for 9th Feb.”
Addressing the rumors stating the film could be released tax-free, Sidharth said, “No we haven’t spoken about it yet. But if that happens it will be a great, more people will be able to enjoy the film. The result will come out only when the movie is released and the review comes out. According to me, the movie is very relevant, while it maintains the thriller vibe it also speaks about certain social issues.”
Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee-starrer political thriller Aiyaary ran into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification for its genre. Since the film is set against the army backdrop, the Defense Ministry wants to review the film before its release.
After Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat had to be approved by various people and the censor board, now ‘Aiyaary’ has also become a prey to the same tactic. When asked if it will affect the way films are made and released, Malhotra said, “Every film has their own different reasons. The film you are talking about (padmaavat) we have seen all that has happened right before us. In ‘Aiyaary’ there is nothing as serious. I have spoken to our producers and the film will still release on 9th Feb, so we are hoping things go smoothly.”
Sidharth was last seen in Ittefaq, a Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Production, directed by Abhay Chopra costarring Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna.
His upcoming film, ‘Aiyaary’ directed by Neeraj Pandey is scheduled to release on 9th Feb.
