Film “Angry Indian Goddess” received rave reviews and award at Toronto International Film Festival and Rome Film Festival.
The film is releasing in India on 4th December. But the Director Pan Nalin thinks that the international film festival award will not help film much in India.
In an interview for the film, director Pan Nalin said, “In India the International Film Festival Award does not help much for any film because the award matters to the niche audience there but the raw audience of the country and if we are trying to release in main stream cinema it does not help. For India it is just creating curiosity.”
Talking about the pros of International Film Festival Award around the world, “The international distributor and buyer for them the awards matter because in the city like Toronto where there is lot of ethnic group if the film is liked there, then there is something universal in the it and it gives hint that the film can run in other nation as well, then the film travels globally. The fill be releasing in Hong Kong and other European country.”
‘Angry Indian Goddess’ is billed as India’s first all out female buddy film starring Sandhya Mridul, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sarah Jane-Dias, Anushka Manchanda, Amrit Maghera, Rajshri Deshpande and Pavleen Gujral.
