“Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” Clocks 21 Years, Filmmaker Karan Johar feels nostalgic

Filmmaker Karan Johar shares an emotional and heartfelt post as his first directorial film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai clocks 21 years. The film released on 16 October, 1998 and managed to win viewers’ hearts. From the peppy songs to the stellar acting of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji, the film till date is an all time favourite among fans.

The film was a commercial and critical success! The film also marked an era of romantic college dramas!

Meanwhile on the work front, Karan Johar is gearing up for one of his most ambitious projects, ‘Takht’, which boasts of an ensemble star cast including some big names from the industry like Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor.

It has been reported that Anil Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Shahjahan in the film, with Ranveer, Vicky and Kareena playing his heirs.

Ranveer will be essaying the role of Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Shahjahan, while Vicky will be stepping into the shoes of his younger brother Aurangzeb. Kareena will be seen playing Shahjahan’s daughter Jahanara Begum.

Alia will play Ranveer’s wife Begum Nadira Banu in the film, while the role of Aurangzeb’s wife Dilras Banu Begum will be played by Bhumi Pednekar. And finally, Janhvi Kapoor, who is fresh out of the success of Dhadak, is expected to be seen as a slave girl in the epic.

The film, which is based on the fight to the finish for the Mughal throne, is slated to hit the screens in 2020.
