Kimaya Motion Pictures “Ek Albela” featuring Vidya Balan, who is playing the role of renowned yesteryear actress Geeta Bali, will see the most expensive sets ever for a Marathi movie.
The biopic which is to be produced by Monish Babre and directed by Shekhar Sartandel is a tribute to the legendary actor Bhagwan Dada for his contribution to the Hindi film industry.
The makers of the biopic are trying to leave no stone unturned to give the period film exploring the era from 1930 to 1951 of Mumbai an authentic look.
Doing so, the makers have got on board the ace Art Director Baban Adagale, who has previously worked on successful projects including Ram Leela, Raanjhanaa, Dabangg and Rowdy Rathore among others, to help them create magnificent set for Ek Albela showcasing Bombay, pre and post independence.
The makers have spent almost Rs 1 crore on the sets, considered as the first ever for a Marathi movie.
A source says, “Producer Dr. Monish Babre does not comprise on any quality look and feel of the film.”
