Suniel Shetty and Sana Khan unveiled the ‘Stardust Dhamakedaar Naaz Women Achievers of India Awards’ Issue on Monday. During media interaction, Suniel said, the whole thing about Padmavati controversy is an unfortunate thing.

“You know it is very unfortunate, going by reports there is no controversy at all, and going by the reports it is a feather in the cap for every Rajput. I am a Kshatriya myself, I come from the south, but believe very strongly that you have to give somebody an opportunity to at least probably see or have a glimpse and understand it”

“I have shot a hell of a lot in Rajasthan and it is “Atithi Devo Bhava” at its peak when it comes to Rajasthan. So I am surprised how come this time it is not that way. So it is sad” said Suniel Shetty during his media interaction talking about Padmavati Controversy.

Suniel Shetty also added that he hopes Padmavati releases and every Rajput get to witness the best thing ever happening for their community.

“I think the film will see the light of day and every Rajput in the country will believe that it is probably one of the best things that could have happened to them and their community. Because there is a tremendous amount of respect for them so why would Sanjay Leela Bhansali, as such a popular director and three of the best talent in the country, Deepika, Ranveer, and Shahid, want to mess things up. I don’t understand it”

“I don’t know what is behind the whole thing but as an actor, I would want to see it released and I want every Rajput to feel that ‘wow yaar’ this is something that we misunderstood it and this is something which is a feather in our cap” added Suniel.

The actor was last seen in a negative role in the 2017 release ‘A Gentleman’ directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK co-starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez.
