Problem with Charles Sobhraj Was That He Never Had His Own Identity: Randeep Hooda

Versatile actor Randeep Hooda, who is well known for playing serious and intense characters in films, is all set to steal one’s mind with his out-an-out negative role which he has played in his upcoming release ‘Main Aur Charles’.

The actor who was last seen on big screens in Karan Johar’s  productional venture ‘Ungli’ was all present along with his gorgeous co-star Rich Chadha and makers of ‘Main Aur Charles’ for the trailer launch of same in Mumbai.

Post trailer launch, Randeep interacted with media, and spoke about his experience working for his character and some unknown truth about serial killer Charles Sobhraj on whom the film is based on.

As Randeep said, “Talking about Charles, the truth is Charles himself has no idea about his real identity. He has changed his identity in such a manner in numerous occasions that he truly has no idea what exactly his identity is or where exactly he belongs to. According to me, the biggest problem for him was that he belongs to a dysfunctional family and he used to visit France and Vietnam so often that he neither had any identity of own in France, nor in Vietnam. Following which the biggest problem he had to face was that he had no proper nationality. To compensate the same he used to adopt numerous identities, as he never had one of his own.”

Randeep further said,“The biggest challenge for Charles was that he had lost himself creating his own identity. But the plus point about him according to me is, he was very good in interacting with others. He was very good at adapting himself according to people and surrounding.

Charles himself says, “As long as people are involved, I will get out from any situation.”

“Without any doubt he had mastered the Human Relationship and Human Interaction, which sets him apart from others. But at the same time I have no idea how smart he is, as he has spent most of his life, like almost 30 to 40 years in Jail. I personally feel that once he is out of jail he feels less important, and maybe that’s the reason he keeps on following wrong way. Apart from that I personally do feel that he is a great marketer, and he does know how to create stories and how to sell them,” added the actor.

Talking about the film, apart from Randeep and Richa, ‘Main Aur Charles also stars Tisca Chopra, Adil Hussain and Alex O’ Nell among others.

The film is directed by Prawaal Raman, and will release on 30th October.
