Sanjay Dutt’s Biopic Starring Ranbir Kapoor to Go on Floors Next Year, Confirms Rajkumar Hirani

National Award winning filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who is known all across following his superhit directorial ventures like ‘Munnabhai MBBS’, ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’, has been in news following a biopic based on life of his actor friend Sanjay Dutt.

The versatile filmmaker who was present at the recent GQ awards, where he bagged Director of the year award, was asked about his upcoming projects, the biopic on Sanjay Dutt’s life and the third installment of ‘Munnabhai’ Series, by the media present there.

The talented filmmaker said, “The script based on Sanjay Dutt’s biopic is almost finished. The film will go on floors next year.”

Raju further added, “Right now, I’m working on both the scripts i.e the biopic on Sanjay’s life, as well as on the third installment of ‘Munnabhai’ series. The script on the biopic is on verge of its finish, whereas the script on the latest installment of ‘Munnabhai’ is in full process.”

When asked about Bollywood chocolaty Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, who will be playing Sanjay’s character in the latter’s biopic, and the way’s Ranbir’s filmy career is going here in Bollywood, following three back-to-back flops in form of ‘Besharam’, ‘Roy’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’.

Rajkumar said, “Ranbir is a fantastic actor. And I don’t think anyone can judge a good film or a bad film. One can’t really judge an actor by his past film’s commercial success. And Ranbir is a wonderful actor and there’s no stopping him.”
