Actor, producer and entrepreneur Sunil Shetty is happy and grateful to actor daughter Athiya Shetty, who has lived up to expectation and helped him to connect with younger audience.
Athiya Shetty, daughter of ‘Hera Pheri’ star Sunil Shetty and Mana Shetty, debuted opposite Sooraj Pancholi, who is son of yet another legendary actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, in hit remake Hero.
Hero is directed by Nikhil Advani under the production and keen eye of Salman Khan, who provided an epic launch pad to both the debutants.
“Now when little Kids look at me, their mother tell them, he is Sunil shetty and they are like, who is this guy with beard. But when they are told, he is Athiya Shetty’s father, and suddenly there is light in their eyes, which is remarkable. So thanks to Athiya, I am getting connected with younger generation,” says Sunil.
Sunil Shetty has so far worked in more than 110 films. He made his mark in the industry doing action-oriented films.
Besides Bollywood, he appeared in the English film Don’t Stop Dreaming in 2007 and the Tamil film 12B.
So impressing him as an actor would be tough task, but daughter Athiya, has bowled him over with her first release.
“As an actor, I am very happy and as a father, I am happier. Because finally every father wants people to say this is Athiya’s father, not Sunil Shetty’s daughter. I love it,” says Sunil.
