Top five most expensive movies of Bollywood…iuuvghowr

  1. DHOOM 3

Ranked as number one in the highest budget movies of Bollywood, Dhoom 3 a YRF production  was made on a budget of Rs 1.25 billion. With a Star Cast like Katrina Kaif and  Amir Khan,  this movie broke many records and was declared as “biggest hit of 2013”. The film went on to gross ₹4 billion (US$63 million) worldwide in just ten days. Dhoom 3 hit the cinemas in 20 December 2013, marking itself as the first Bollywood movie to be released in the IMAX motion picture film format with Dolby Atmos surround sound.



The Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bang Bang an action-thriller movie, grossed more than Rs 300 crores just after two weeks in theaters worldwide. This Fox star studio production had a whopping budget of  Rs 140 crore.


  1. RA.ONE

With a massive budget of Rs 130 crore next on the list is the Indian Science fiction Superhero movieRa.One with starring SRK and Kareena Kapoor. It was theatrically released on 26 October 2011 and grossed around Rs 531 crores worldwide. The movie was produced by none other than King Khan’s wife, Gauri Khan. Box Office India deemed Ra.One a domestic “hit” and overseas “super hit’. The film subsequently won a number of awards for its technical aspects.


  1. BLUE

Featuring next on the list is the 2009 underwater action thriller, a multi-starrer movie ‘Blue’. Directed by Anthony D’Souza, and written by American writers Joshua Lurie and Bryan M. Sullivan, this film at the time of release, broke the record for the most expensive Bollywood film ever produced. It was made on a budget of Rs 120 crore. Though it had an excellent opening at the Box office, and collected very well in it’s opening weekend, but it failed to recover it’s high budget. Its domestic net came out as Rs 394 million.


  1. KICK

Another movie to make it on the list is action thriller Kick which had a budget of Rs 101 crore. The film released on 25 July 2014 in about 5000 screens worldwide. It made a final worldwide gross collection of Rs 3.55 billion. Kick is both directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. FeaturingSalman Khan, this movie became one of the highest grossing films in 2014.
