Actress Rani Mukerji who is busy promoting her upcoming movie ‘Hichki’ based on teacher says teaching is not an easy profession.
Rani attended special screening of ‘Hichki’ along with teachers from different parts of Mumbai where Rani felicitated all teachers for their contribution in educational field on Saturday in Mumbai.
Talking about teachers role in every individual’s life, Rani said, “I urge all the teachers that to spread the word about this film because we have done our duty as responsible film people to show noble profession like teaching onscreen so I feel all teachers should take this message forward in their what’s app parents group or in parents- teachers meeting to encourage parents to see this film because through this film they will know the struggles that teachers go through every day in teacher’s life as teaching is not an easy profession because people often ask them how much you have earned? I think what a teacher earns is not important, what they do for us is important and we remember all our teachers for rest of our life and with this film, I am hoping that it’s going to be true. Every student in any corner of the world is going to think of his or her favorite teacher and make that one call and say that they love their teachers so again I urge all to please take your entire family to watch this film and that is going to be biggest success of this film.”
She added, “Teachers who are present here are the first people who have watched this film. We haven’t shown it to the industry, media and my family. In fact, this movie is for the teachers so we thought we will start with showing the teachers first. I think there is no other noble profession than being a teacher so I salute all teachers out there for their contribution to all the student’s life which is absolutely amazing so on behalf of whole world , country, all the students as I have been I am immensely thankful to all teachers for being who you are. After completing education, students go on to become such achievers, leaders, professionals so it’s all because of teachers so it’s our small way to pay tribute to teachers”
Rani plays Naina Mathur, a teacher in ‘Hichki’, who has a nervous system disorder, Tourette Syndrome that forces an individual to make involuntary repetitive movements or sounds.
Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, the film essentially is about staring down at challenges that life throws at one and ultimately winning over them, apart from being a subtle reminder about discrimination that exists in our society.
The YRF team decided that 23 March, 2018 is the best release date for Hichki, especially given the post exam scenario for students and families – the most relevant target audience for this film.
