What’s infirming Kapil Sharma?
On Wednesday, the team of Anees Bazmee’s upcoming wedding comedy, ‘Mubarakan’, which included Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz and Athiya Shetty, were to promote their film on Kapil Sharma’s comedy show.
The shoot was scheduled for 7.30 pm. However, at around 7 pm, the actors were informed that the show’s host had suddenly taken ill. The shoot was subsequently cancelled. This is the third time that Kapil had to cancel a shoot at the last minute in the last two months because of health problems. The first time it happened was at the end of May and left the cast of Ashwni Dhir’s ‘Guest iin London’, including Paresh Rawal, Kartik Aryan and Kriti Kharbanda, stranded. More recently, the 36-year-old actor-comedian fainted and had to be rushed to a suburban hospital just before his on-camera interaction with Shah Rukh Khan.
According to a source close to him, Kapil has been shooting for his upcoming action comedy, ‘Firangi’, simultaneously and his blood pressure has been fluctuating. “On Wednesday, he had been feeling ill since afternoon and later in the day, his BP fell. He was taken to the hospital directly from his residence. He was discharged after a few hours but is currently on medication and has been advised rest for a few days,” adds the source.
Sunil Grover and Ali Asgar’s headline-grabbing exit from his show after Kapil’s contretemps with the former on a flight has also put him under a lot of pressure. The TRPs have been oscillating as much as his BP, plunging in April, recovering just last week to put ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ back in the Top Ten list.
However, this week it has once again been expelled out of the race and these last-minute cancellations are not helping its case. Meanwhile, the actor’s contract for the show has not been renewed yet. The final call will be taken by the channel soon.
