Why Riteish Deshmukh delayed shooting of ‘Banjo’?

Riteish Deshmukh has started shooting for ‘Banjo’ and the Actor is seen sporting long locks for this film helmed by Ravi Jadhav. The actor said he had to delay the shooting for the film as because he needed to grow long hair for the role.

“Regarding the look it was Ravi Jadav’s wish to do something different with the look. Because of the character I play, which stays in slum has a unique style. So Krishika (Lulla) insisted that I should grow a long hair. While we were about to start shooting last October, and was busy in doing “Housefull”, I had to push the shoot to have enough time to grow the hair and style it accordingly.” Says Deshmukh at the media interaction of ‘Banjo’

“I am really excited to do the film as this character is quite unique. Every day when I come to shoot I feel eagerness to work. It keeps me alive every day on come on set.” The ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum’ actor added.

Along with Riteish, Nargis Fakri will be sharing screen space with him. Talking about his co-actress, 37 year old actor was all in praise. Says Riteish, “She was tailor – made for the role. Nargis fits the role perfectly and doing a brilliant job. Nargis, who plays part of a young woman from America and visits India so her accent is apt for her character,.”

Interestingly, this is the second film of Riteish Deshmukh alongside Nargis Fakhri. The two were prior shooting in London for ‘Housefull 3’.

The actor expresses he learnt Hawaiian guitar in his childhood and knows how to play ‘Banjo’.

National award winning director Ravi Jadav who has helmed films like films are Balgandharva and Balak Palak has teamed up with Riteish Deshmukh for the second time after the latter.

Banjo’s music has been composed by Vishal – Shekhar and lyrics have been penned down by Amitabh Bhattacharya.Banjo is a musical drama that shows the uncommon bonding between a DJ from US and a Banjo party from Mumbai.
