Salman, known to promote younger talent in industry, is the producer of “Hero”, the debut film of Sooraj, son of the actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab.
Actor Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya is also making her debut in the film which is a remake of Subhash Ghai-directed 1983 film of the same name.
“Both are stars. They look good on screen. Sooraj has a great endearing quality on screen. I think Sooraj will come into my slot…He is going to lessen the gap between me and him. He is going to push me” Salman said.
“Athiya should work so hard that she should work with the young generation as well as with our generation. She should work with Shah Rukh, Aamir and me” said Salman.
“Hero” was earlier slated to be released on September 4 along with John Abraham’s “Welcome Back”, but has been put off till September 11.
When asked about the postponement, Salman quipped in his own style, “Postponed the release because ‘humne Welcome ko welcome kar liya.”
