Lucas film and director J.J. Abrams join forces once again to take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come.
The Rise of Skywalker, which sees the final battle between the Resistance and the First Order, will give the story a meaningful end. The official handle of Disney dropped the last trailer on social media. It captioned t, “The saga will end, the story lives forever. The final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker teases an epic conclusion. Its ensemble cast includes Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Domhnall Gleeson, Richard E. Grant, Lupita Nyong’o, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, with Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams.
The Rise of Skywalker picks up one year after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Kylo Ren and Rey are preparing to face off in their final battle against one another, as other members of the Resistance, including Poe Dameron, Finn, and BB-8 fight for the universe’s future. The Rise of Skywalker will also see the return of more classic characters, including Ian McDiarmid’s Palpatine (whose iconic laugh was heard at the end of the first trailer) and Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian.
